Prof. Claudio Tondo MD, PhD FESC, FHRS is Professor of Cardiology at The Department of Biomedical, Surgical and Dental Sciences at University of Milano, Italy, and Chairman of the Heart Rhythm Center at Centro Cardiologico Monzino (CCM), IRCCS, Milan, Italy.

A world recognized leader in the field of electrophysiology, Prof. Claudio Tondo is a dedicated clinician and researcher. He has been an invited lecturer at more than 400 symposiums and conferences around the world and is the author or co-author of 280 published articles.

In 2016 he has been the co-author of the International Guidelines (HRS/EHRA/ECAS) for the treatment of atrial fibrillation, Chairman of the session “Indications for catheter ablation and surgical ablation of atrial fibrillation”; moreover, during the last years he has been National Coordinator of important International trials.

Prof. Tondo and his team focus on innovative advances in the treatment of atrial fibrillation through the most advanced technologies such as robotic devices and specialized ablation catheters. He runs an international referral site for rhythm disorders; moreover, using advanced techniques and new technologies, his team is able to offer early detection of and treatment for a vast spectrum of conditions relating to cardiac arrhythmia.

Prof. Tondo and his staff also support and maintain fundamental research programs as well as clinical research programs focused on heart rhythm disorders (atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, etc…). The research topics include cardiac arrhythmias, LAA closure and ventricular tachycardia.

From 2017 he is Member of the Public Defence of PhD Thesis at Vrije Universiteit of Brussel -Belgium

From 2018 he is Reviewer for the Vici Programme Grant Application at the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research
