Andrea Russo, MD

Dr. Russo is currently Professor of Medicine at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, Academic Chief of the Division of Cardiology, Director of Electrophysiology and Arrhythmia Services, and Director of the Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship Program at Cooper University Health Care in Camden, New Jersey. She was a Past President of the Heart Rhythm Society. She is a current Associate Editor for Circulation and an Associate Editor for Circulation: Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology. She has also served on steering or executive committees, events committees, and data safety monitoring committees for several clinical trials. She has authored manuscripts on a variety of arrhythmia and device topics and has been co-chair or member of various guideline and consensus documents writing groups, including recent co-chair of the 2024 Appropriate Use Criteria for ICDs, CRT, and Pacing and member of the writing committee for the 2023 ACC/AHA/ACCP/HRS Guideline for the Diagnosis and Management of Atrial Fibrillation. Areas of special interest include atrial fibrillation therapy, sex differences in arrhythmias, implantable cardioverter defibrillators, and the role of digital health in arrhythmia management.
