Giulio Falasconi, MD

Dr. Giulio Falasconi is an Italian cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist currently serving as Coordinator of Research in Arrhythmology at Teknon Medical Center in Barcelona, Spain. He earned his M.D. with full honours from Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome and completed his Cardiology Residency at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan. Dr. Falasconi is a PhD Candidate at the University of Barcelona, focusing on personalized atrial fibrillation ablation guided by left atrial wall thickness.
He previously held positions as cardiac electrophysiologist at Humanitas Research Hospital (Milan) and as fellow in electrophysiology at Teknon. He holds EHRA full certification in electrophysiology and EACVI/EACTA certification in transesophageal echocardiography. His research integrates advanced cardiac imaging, CT- and MRI-based substrate characterization, and image-guided ablation strategies. Dr. Falasconi has authored or co-authored over 70 peer-reviewed publications, including in Europace, JACC EP, and Heart Rhythm.
He serves as Review Editor for Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine and as member of the Imaging Area of Italian Association of Arrhythmology and Cardiac Pacing. He has delivered invited presentations at major congresses such as EHRA, AF Symposium, and Prague Rhythm Meeting.
His work has received multiple distinctions, including the Best Original Study Award (RITMO 2022) and the Young EP Arena Award (AF Symposium 2024). His current research interests include image-guided ablation, cardioneuroablation, and machine-learning applications in ventricular arrhythmias.
