Prof Josef Kautzner, MD, PhD, graduate of Charles University in Prague, who completed most of his cardiology training at the Department of Medicine II, Charles University General Hospital and during stays in London or Houston. He has been working at the Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKEM) in Prague since 1996, currently as a Director of the Heart Center and Department of Cardiology. His clinical interest is recently focused mainly on studies of atrial fibrillation adverse effects and on innovative technologies for catheter ablation and imaging. He is an author of 8 books, many book chapters and authored or co-authored 470 scientific papers.
