Marc S. Sabatine, MD, MPH is Chair of the TIMI Study Group, the Lewis Dexter, MD, Distinguished Chair in Cardiovascular Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. As Chair, Dr. Sabatine has led multiple large international clinical trials across a broad range of cardiovascular and metabolic therapeutics, resulting in FDA approval of new indications for medications and changes in practice guidelines. In addition to being a clinical trialist, Dr. Sabatine has been a pioneer in the multimarker approach to risk stratification, and has had multiple National Institutes of Health and American Heart Association grants supporting the application of proteomics and metabolomics for discovery of novel biomarkers. He also has a long-standing interest in pharmacogenetics and has made impactful observations on the ability to use genetics for personalized medicine. Dr. Sabatine has published extensively in these fields with many seminal papers in the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, and the Lancet. He has been one of the most highly cited researchers in medicine for many years running. He has mentored over 40 research fellows, many of whom have gone on to academic positions as physician-scientists around the world.
