Shiro Nakahara, MD, PhD, FACC, is a cardiac electrophysiologist and Associate Professor of Cardiology at Dokkyo Medical University Saitama Medical Center in Saitama, Japan. He graduated from Dokkyo Medical University and completed his residency and cardiology training at Dokkyo Medical University Koshigaya Hospital, followed by a research fellowship at the UCLA Cardiac Arrhythmia Center in Los Angeles, California. His clinical and research interests focus on catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia, balloon-based and visually guided ablation technologies, and substrate-guided approaches in structural heart disease. He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications in journals including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Heart Rhythm, Circulation Journal, and JACC: Clinical Electrophysiology, and is an active member of multiple national and international cardiovascular societies.
