ULM UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER ULM, GERMANY

After completing medical school at Ruprecht-Karls-University in Heidelberg, Germany, I joined the Department of Cardiology at Heidelberg University Hospital (Head: Prof. Hugo A. Katus) in 2004. In 2010 I transferred to Ulm University Medical Center, Department of Cardiology (Head: Prof. Wolfgang Rottbauer) were I became head of electrophysiology in 2011. As an electrophysiologist and interventional cardiologist I became deputy director of the department of cardiology in 2019. The broad spectrum of cardiac interventions from diagnostic right and left heart catheterization, coronary angiography, PCI, PFO/ASD closure, LAA closure, valve interventions and all types of ablations helps me to transfer novel techniques from one field to the other.

My research interest is PVI with a focus on single shot technologies including cryoballon and RF balloon, AF ablation in heart failure with reduced and preserved ejection fraction, and mapping of atrial substrates in AF and AT/AFL.
